Having only opened in 2017, West Cliffs’ masterful layout, with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean from almost every hole, has taken the golfing world by storm to become one of the top-ranked courses in Europe in a matter of months. The existing terrain is natural rolling sand dunes and coastal vegetation interspersed with areas of pine groves overlooking the sea from a variety of elevations above the cliffs at the mouth of the Obidos Laguna. 

This is a driver’s course and if you miss the fairways, you’ll be chopping out from a collection of seaside plants. One hole could be narrow, shadowed by tall pine trees and the next wide open with a strong sea breeze. It’s an incredibly diverse round of golf that combines the best of links and parkland themes to create a very unique experience. Regardless of how you’ve played, do spend some time in the 19th hole!
