Sprawling over 170 acres of picturesque coastline, the world-class Playa Grande Golf Course, designed by the famous architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., is often fondly called as the "Pebble Beach of the Caribbean". With 10 holes playing directly on the ocean, the 7,085 yard layout winds along the coastline, providing amazingly open vistas, cliff-side fairways and sloping greens. Four par-three holes are played alongside the ocean, as are the last five holes of the back nine.

 

Underground springs supply the greens with plenty of fresh water, with the majority of the course surrounded by palm trees, typical for the area. This unique golf course in the Dominican Republic has wide fairways, meticulously contoured greens and Rees Jones’ signature coastal-style bunkers accent the gently rolling landscape. Each side has a one-risk/reward par-five on the water. Each hole blends seamlessly into the natural surroundings, giving a unique feeling of isolation from one to the next.
